Creating a brand identity for the Galleries at Eastern Michigan University was a challenging task. They have two separate galleries, as well as a speaker series. I decided to created four different logos within the same system to differentiate these aspects of the organization. They are all based on the idea of a square spiraling into itself to form a letter. The square form suggests a frame like one would find in a gallery, while the spiral implies that the galleries can go in multiple different direction and have a broad array of artists to display. Additionally, I created a system for posters, social media graphics, and postcards based on the idea of splitting a piece of artwork in half. This invites the viewer to look closer, hopefully enticing them to check out the art in person. Featuring artwork from artists including: Danielle Jeffries, Leonardo Casale, and Jane Sullivan.
